Last month, rapper Chris J released an EP titled I Been Driving produced entirely by Connor Barkhouse. Hailing from Miami, he’s making music that transcends geographical boundaries. On the four-track project Chris alternates between measured, contemplative bars and something more aggressive, but never loses his composure. Fresh off of this promising release, he’s back with a new song, Lonely, featuring Donny Scotts.
The track makes it clear that he’s not done progressing by any means. Boasting unorthodox production provided by pyrmdplaza, Lonely is impossibly catchy, but far from simple. Arguably rapping better than ever, Chris J enlists Donny Scotts to assist him in this continuation of the earnest storytelling he’s specialized in throughout his career. The result speaks for itself.
